JUMARP is a coop located in the Amazonian Andes in northern Peru. They were formed by 35 small farmers at 2003 and now have over 236 coop members. The coop has recently invested in wet mill, storage, and cupping lab infrastructure with speciality coffee premiums used to supply members with fertilisers and hands-on training through on-farm visits.

Where are you from?:
My parents, Anastacio and Sabina, are from Apurimac and I was born in Merced, Chanchamayo. I am 40 years old I have 2 beautiful children of 17 and 10 years. I have been producing coffee here for 10 years.
What is your farm like?
I have 26 hectares of coffee, including varietals of caturra, geisha, catuai, typica, pache and limani. The native trees are Pine Oje, Cedar, Walnut and guava, and the soil in the area is clay based.
How do you process your coffee?
My coffee is organic. It is washed and fermented in spring water for 24 hours and dried on raised beds in poly tunnel. I use the pulp of the coffee cherry for fertiliser.
