Description
Literally translated as ‘Fire-meat’, Bulgogi is a store cupboard essential for spicy Asian dishes & our Korean Chilli Bulgogi spice is an incredible blend that packs serious flavour with a punch!
This blend works well as a seasoning for noodles, stir fries & rice dishes but comes into its own as a marinade or glaze.
For the simplest glaze, combine in a saucepan:
1 tsp Korean Chilli Bulgogi spice
3 Tbsp of soy sauce
3 Tbsp maple syrup
1 Tbsp rice wine vinegar (or wine vinegar)
1 Tbsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp water mixed with 1 tsp cornflour
Bring to the boil for a couple of minutes, then pour over cooked tofu, beef, prawns or chicken & stir through for a simple sauce. If you’re doing a stir fry, cook everything as usual & add this glaze/sauce near the end as you’ll only want to cook this for a minute at most or it could burn or get too thick.
This is a great way to encourage you to go meat-free as this sauce is so tasty with firm, fried tofu – you won’t even miss the meat!
