Description
Zaâtar blend is a blend of Lebanese origin, a blend of so many different flavors, textures and scents. It is traditionally eaten with bread soaked in olive oil. With its fresh and lemony taste, it goes very well with meat, accompanied by a drizzle of olive oil for your salads, and with all your fish.
Bright, earthy and toasty, it lends a special taste to things simple (boiled eggs, garlic yogurt, canned chickpeas) and exciting (roast chicken, green sauce, homemade hummus).
How to eat it:
Zaatar encompasses such a variety of flavors that it can be the bright note that enlivens and anchors sliced tomatoes, the unifying force in a salad of refreshing smashed cucumbers and salty, greasy feta, and the replacement lemon and herbs on a roast chicken.
In the Middle East, zaatar is often eaten with bread dipped in oil, or spread on flat bread dough before baking.
