Vegan Iron

Iron plays an important role in many bodily functions particularly haemoglobin formation to carry oxygen throughout the body for proper brain and muscle function. Vitamin C enhances iron absorption into the blood. Iron is essential for healthy red blood cell formation, to keep us energized throughout the day. Iron deficiency symptoms can lead to fatigue, weakness, poor circulation, breathlessness and brittle nails. Iron deficiency can cause anaemia, developing symptoms of fatigue and shortness of breath. As meat is one of the diet’s best sources of iron, Vegans and vegetarians can benefit from supplementation to prevent low iron. For better absorption and to avoid symptoms of constipation we use the ferrous bisglycinate form which the body absorbs more easily.
