Sage - makes it easier
Finding the exact origin of the sage is not that easy. However, since the Romans and Greeks already reported on the spicy herb plant, one can assume its origin in the sun-drenched Mediterranean region. And so it is not surprising that it is mainly at home in the cuisine of these regions. While it is mostly used in tea to relieve colds, our friends from the south use its properties to make fatty foods more digestible. Sage is a perfect antagonist, especially for rich dishes with butter and oils. The sage with its more than 600 different varieties worldwide is a word from the Latin "salvare", which means "to heal".
