Temperament and diversity. Nothing sums up the Spanish way of life better. And it is precisely these two properties that we have lovingly combined with each other in our ART OF OIL Chilli. The balanced, mild fruitiness of our Arbequina olive oil is then accompanied by the pleasant spiciness of our Spanish chilli. It is a perfect companion for spirited pasta dishes or gives your grilled dishes the finishing touch.
Chilli - what is hot?
There is probably no other plant associated with the term spicy as the chilli pepper. But how hot is chilli actually? A question that is not easy to answer for many reasons. On the one hand, there are over 4000 different types of chilli worldwide with probably just as many different degrees of heat. Incidentally, this degree is given in Scovile. For example, if the value is 1000 Scovile, exactly 1000 drops of water are needed to neutralize one drop of this chilli heat. On the other hand, sharpness can be “trained” and is therefore also very subjective. What is hot for one person can be mild for another. The chilli with the highest Scoville grade is the American Carolina Reaper with a value of 2.2 million Scoville.
