Description
A beautiful handcrafted cotton Wayuu mochila bag made by the Wayuu people; a Native American ethnic group from the desert region of 'La Guajira' in North-East Colombia. The women learn the tradition of weaving at an early age and it is passed down through the generations to keep the craft alive. Each bag takes anywhere between 3-5 weeks to make. The traditional patterns and shapes are designed by the individual at the time of weaving and represent how they were feeling at the time.
Features
This luxury design is made with a single rather than double thread. This makes the weave stronger, finer and even more durable. It features a traditional long strap to be worn on one shoulder or across the body and has a tasseled drawstring closure.
Please be aware that due to the handmade nature of our products, small imperfections and variations in shape and size may occur.
