The story behind the art:
The theme of this drawing is big dreams. The really big kind. The scary kind. The kind that takes time and courage and failures along the way and insane persistence to keep going. The ones that can feel so overwhelmingly impossible and terrifying at the start, but might just be the most valuable fight of your life. Those are my kind of dreams, and this drawing was started with this energy of "why not start now, however you can"? The original artwork measures 42x42cm, one of my largest, so I was able to create lots of detailed interweaving layers expanding out from the central point, reflecting the idea of opportunities expanding exponentially from the smallest of starting point. The dotwork in this piece really adds depth and a powerful perspective of the mandala jumping out of the page, which is one of my favourite parts of this design.
I started drawing mandalas when I was studying yoga in India 4 years ago. Buddhist symbolism is at the core of my art style, but I have also been influenced by my love of mountains and nature, and the traditional and indigenous art I was exposed to when I lived in Canada and New Zealand. I am inspired by the meanings and purpose behind spiritual art, which is why I create my mandalas to incorporate symbolic messages within the structure of natural geometry. I put a lot of love, time and meaning into my artwork, so I pride myself on providing the highest quality art prints for you to enjoy the beneficial effects of having hand-drawn mandala art in your own home.
