Crowdberries Jigsaw Puzzle (500 pieces)

Have you ever heard about the ‘wisdom of the crowd’? The idea is that when large groups of people are brought together, they are much smarter than individual experts, and much better at innovating, too. We decided to test this theory in the bravest way possible – by inviting hundreds of puzzlers to design our next puzzle. We couldn’t know how the final puzzle would look, but we pledged to make the final design into a real-life Cloudberries puzzle, whatever happened. No one had ever tried something this whacky before (like, really, who would?) but we were completely overwhelmed by the response. More than 400 people took part, completing the entire image in just over two hours. The final artwork, which looks AHH-MAZING, just proves that big groups of puzzle nerds ‘know’ how to make a great jigsaw, even if they can’t see each other’s contributions. THE NERDIEST PUZZLE PROJECT EVER Puzzlers were invited to choose a shape from a predefined grid on cloudberries.co.uk/crowd. Then, they could choose which colour they’d like their section of the puzzle to be. Entries were submitted in isolation, and participants were prevented from seeing which colour neighbouring sections had been given, or whether their submission ‘fitted in’ with the rest of the design. Once all sections of the puzzle were coloured in, we revealed the final design on social media, attracting thousands of likes and comments… and suggestions for what to call the puzzle. WHY CROWDBERRIES? We received hundreds of suggestions for what to name the world’s first crowdsourced puzzle. Our two favourites – KALEIDOSCOPIC and CROWDBERRIES – were then put to a public vote. We loved both, but the people spoke, and that’s why we’re calling this one CROWDBERRIES. LIMITED EDITION To begin with, we’re only printing a limited run of these puzzles. If you chose a colour and gave us permission to email you, you’ll be the first to know when the puzzle is ready to ship.
