About the dosage of psyllium , ESCOP recommends 2.5 to 40 g per day (without exceeding 13 g per dose) accompanied by a large glass of water. Here are also the dosages to respect depending on the case:
Diarrhea between 2.5 and 10 g per day and up to 40 g.
Constipation: one tablespoon (5 g) of psyllium in the morning and evening for 2 or 3 days.
Irritable colon: 10 g of ispaghul powder diluted in a glass of water for 2 to 3 days.
Appetite suppressant: 5 to 10 g of psyllium diluted in water and always accompanied by a large glass of water. To be taken 20 minutes before the meal.
Colon cleansing: 5 to 10 g of psyllium in 100 ml of water. Take 2-4 times a day for 3 days or a week.
Good to know : the dosage for children between 6 and 12 years old for psyllium is half that of adults. Make sure your children drink plenty of water if you plan to provide them with the benefits of psyllium
