What’s popular and trending in the world of olive oil?

Olive oil is certainly not a new product, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t experience its own trends! Here are a few things we’ve noticed:

• Flavoured olive oils. Taking high quality olive oil and infusing it with herbs, garlic, truffle, chilli, or other additional flavours. Perfect for drizzling over just about anything.
• Olive oils in glass bottles with pourers. We’ve noticed an uptick in beautifully designed olive oil bottles — the kind you’d want to keep out on the counter, rather than hide away in a cupboard.
• Olive oil soap. Traditional and nourishing, olive oil is having a renaissance in bars of soap and other bath and body products.

FAQs

What’s a good margin for olive oil?

So a ‘good’ margin is subjective, and ultimately depends on your business model. But when it comes to selling gourmet food products, we’d recommend looking for a margin of around 30-40% minimum.

Why does olive oil appear in skincare products?

Olive oil is rich in antioxidants, effective at removing makeup, and is said to have anti-ageing properties for the skin, as well as being an effective moisturiser — so it’s no surprise to see it appearing in so many skincare and beauty products.

Can I return these olive oil products?

Yes! You have 60 days to send back anything you don’t love, or that doesn’t sell (as long as it’s your first time buying from that brand). In some countries, we’ll even come and collect your returns for free. So go ahead and take a chance on something new, risk-free.
