ABOUT THIS SCENT When we heard the story of Dr Ivy Williams, we knew instantly that we had to honour her in our line-up. In 1922, Ivy became the first woman to be called to the bar of England and Wales. Though she never practised law herself, she made it her life’s work to gain access to the male-dominated legal profession for all women who came after her. With Ivy’s namesake candle we wanted to celebrate her pioneering spirit of persistence and determination. Thanks to its deep roots and majestic stature, the evergreen cedar tree has been celebrated for centuries as an emblem of strength and resilience. We love the rich, earthy base that cedarwood essential oil delivers, and we think its steadfast aroma is a fitting tribute to the enduring impact of Ivy’s achievements. Frankincense adds touches of spice to this scent, while the floral notes of geranium – a symbol of intelligence in many cultures – provide a hint of sweetness. The overall effect is a warming fragrance that’s both earthy and aromatic. Ivy is a lovely candle to light when you’re enjoying family time at home this season.
