Our Fair Trade leather journals are perfect for writing, journaling, or scrapbooking. We love the unique embossed details, and the hand stitched edge gives it a beautiful finish. Each one is filled with 125 pages of unlined, handmade khadda paper, kept secure with a brass clasp._x000D__x000D_Dimensions: 16 x 11 cm_x000D__x000D_Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand and ready to withstand any knocks and bumps on their journeys with you. The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes. Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully. The embossed detail is created using small handmade tools, making each journal unique. The pattern might not be exactly the same as the one pictured, but it will be just as beautiful._x000D__x000D_The pages are created from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This sustainable material is crafted by hand from recycled cotton, salvaged from the huge waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. While it’s perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldn’t recommend it for use with fountain pens._x000D__x000D_Due to the handmade nature of our products the colours and designs may vary, but loveliness comes as standard._x000D_All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India. We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We are incredibly proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that may have otherwise been difficult to find, and consider the producers and their families true friends.
