Description
These elegant bronze sculptures were created by the Burkinabe artist Adama Ouedraogo. We present a single motif that is available in different colors.
Working with bronze is a traditional craft in Burkina Faso. The term bronze refers to different alloys based on copper, zinc, lead and tin, the proportions of which vary. The bronze today comes from the recycling of old fittings, such as water taps or parts from air conditioning systems.
The artist first creates a wax sculpture that is covered with a sand mixture of clay and dung and then dried. The form is then boiled, the wax melts and escapes through the holes. The molten alloy is poured and takes the place of the wax. After cooling, the mold is broken to remove the sculpture and make the final touches. Each piece is therefore unique.
Different colors available depending on availability: green, turquoise, blue, red, brown.
Made and fairly traded in Burkina Faso.
