We make stamps the old fashioned way. Lick and stick, pinhole perforated poster stamps on dry-gum backed paper with a 100% foot-powered Rosback perforator. We also make a number of wooden-handle rubber stamps celebrating analog correspondence and a love of snail mail. Our aesthetic is historically rooted, but with a contemporary sensibility. Our printed stamps feature a variety of methods including risograph, letterpress, screen print, and digital. Poster Stamps, also know as ‘cinderellas’, look like postage stamps and were often used as advertising or promotion, but not valid as postage. They were popular in Europe before World War I. With The Portland Stamp Company we celebrate that tradition.
