Melissa Galbraith is the fiber artist behind MCreativeJ. She was born and raised in the desert of Washington state, where her mother instilled a love of making things by hand at an early age. Drawing on her love of nature, Melissa creates whimsical and modern embroidery patterns and kits. She loves sharing how anyone can embroider with her embroidery kits, patterns, and virtual workshops. Melissa was reintroduced to hand embroidery after finding her desk job monotonous and needing a creative outlet. She loves that embroidery allows her to play with texture and color and is also a portable craft. Along the way, many crafty minded makers also wanted to learn how to embroider too but were daunted by where to start. So Melissa began to share her embroidery knowledge. Melissa's embroidery kits and patterns make it easy to learn a new craft for makers of all skill levels. She loves seeing makers fall in love with the needle arts & seeing that magical ah-ha moment of learning a new craft.
SOZO’s DIY needlework kits are designed for beginner crafters. The Picture Frame series are packaged in an eco-friendly craft envelope that transforms into a frame for the finished product. Their unique and original designs are printed on heavy, short stitch canvas, which makes it easy for kids to follow without the need for an embroidery hoop. With the company motto "home-decor made by me", SOZO is making a connection between crafting techniques, with its educational benefits, home-décor, promoting creativity, and teaching new skills. The kits includes everything you need to complete the project.
Here at Oh Sew Bootiful, Needlecraft Kits are our speciality! Steph started the company in 2016 after struggling with mental health difficulties and working around her small baby. Embroidery had always helped alleviate her symptoms and she wanted to be able to pass this on to others who may feel the same. Each embroidery kit is designed with every detail considered and contains the best quality supplies. We want every Oh Sew Bootiful kit to be special which is why we do everything here in-house in the UK; from designing patterns to packing kits, writing instructions to cutting fabric, and everything in between!
Hi I’m Amy and I am a textile artist and all round crafter. I set up The Edinburgh Craft Club from my studio in, you guessed it, Edinburgh, after graduating with a degree in textile design from Duncan Of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland. When I say craft I don’t want it to conjure up the chintzy image of your granny's knitted toilet roll cover. My aim is to reclaim craft to be modern, relevant and even cool! Since 2018 I have taught over 4000 people in my colourful classes for novice crafters. I also make my own range of beautiful craft kits to be enjoyed at home. I design each kit from start to finish and have lots of experience in creating and writing projects that are easy to follow and complete. I am passionate about creating modern craft projects and you'll never find me happier than when I'm in my studio coming up with new ideas.
Designer Julie Harris takes her inspiration from her much loved garden, in particular Bees and flowers. Julie has always loved drawing animals, insects and flowers. From original artwork she makes linocut prints where she enhances digitally, capturing the beauty of nature in a sumptuous colour pallet.
