Pitta is made up of fire and water and is associated with the body’s metabolism. Beyond metabolism, Pitta influences digestion processes and body temperature. When in balance, Pitta produces understanding, wisdom, and intelligence. When it’s out of balance, Pitta promotes anger and jealousy.

The final dosha, Kapha, is made up of earth and water. It’s associated with the movement and hydration of different bodily structures including moisturizing the skin, lubricating joints, and helping to maintain the immune system. When in balance, Kapha promotes love and forgiveness, while out of balance it expresses greed and attachment issues.

Aromatherapy, or the use of essential oils to promote health and well-being, has also been used since ancient times. Our moisturising VEGAN PET WONDER BALM is perfect for dry or crusty noses, sore and cracked paw pads, calloused elbows, or irritated skin. So is a great addition to your pets 1st aid kit. This is handmade and all natural with no nasties. Safe to lick and is unscented.

Our balm is made with Shea butter ,Andiroba oil ,hemp oil and comfrey root extract. Hemp oil contains Omega 3 and 6 and is a great source of high quality nutrients for skin health.

Andiroba oil is clinically proven to antifungal and anti bacterial plus has great effects on tics and flies and mosquitoes that bother pets.

Shea butter is naturally high in rich vitamin a ,e and f which contribute to healthy skin cell growth and reduce inflammation.

How and when to apply:

Dogs tend to lick their noses, especially around feed times, so we recommend using the nose balm after your dog has eaten. Apply to clean dry skin as often as needed. In the first instance apply morning and night and 1-2 extra times during the day. But do not worry our balm is safe to lick. 

Cats also have the similar tendencies and our balm is safe to use on both cats and dogs.

Dry noses

A dry nose doesn’t necessarily mean your pet is unwell, but it could indicate an allergy or irritant. The main reasons why your pets nose is dry could be due to allergies or sunburn, from excessive licking, age or perhaps dehydration. However, if they are showing any other symptoms that concern you its best to get them checked out by a vet.

Dry noses can be sore for your pet so a moisturising and hydrating nose balm can help relieve the discomfort. Using our vegan pet wonder balm can help keep the nose moist, prevent it from cracking and help sooth any irritation. As the balm is going on their nose, we have ensured our balm is unscented so  being dog and cat-friendly in case it is licked off.

If your pet likes to stay snuggled up to a fireplace or a radiator during the winter months, they may leave themselves at risk of a dry nose. So be prepared with some balm on stand by.

Paws and hot weather

It’s always best to walk either early in the morning or later in the evening, out of the day’s summer heat. But if in doubt check the pavement with the back of your hand to see if it will be comfortable to walk on. Amazingly At 25 degrees Celsius the pavement can reach up to 50 degrees, hot enough to burn those delicate paws.

If your pet’s paws have become too hot, allow to cool and then soothe and moisturise the area with a paw balm to calm irritation. It may be worth moisturising the paws daily during the height of summer to help prevent cracked dog paws, rough paw pads or injuries such as cuts.

Your dog’s pads are their only defence against terrain, it is so important to care for their pads and prevent irritated paws. Similar with winter cold burns.

Allergies

Like us humans dogs and cats can be effected by the changes in the environment. Pollen and other factors can irritate and cause itchy sore skin.


Our dog balm can help repair and calm irritated areas on the skin and paws and discomfort. But again if you are unhappy with your dogs health please do consult a vet.

Skin folds

Breeds like French or English bulldogs, Pugs and Shar Pei’s have skin folds which can become irritated and painful if cracked or too humid. Skin fold dermatitis is also very common in these wrinkly breeds and symptoms may include loss of hair, redness and inflammation.

Using our natural balm will help to calm any irritation and aid skin repair.

This gives us beautiful cotton rag paper that we all are very proud of, Each sheet takes about 3 days to get ready.The edges are deckled as the water when pressed gushes out from the edges forming a unique part of handmade paper.

Paper from corn husk.
We all have enjoyed delicious corn in various forms. Grilled, charred and boiled.
Corn husks are most commonly used to encase foods to be steamed or baked, imparting a very light corn flavour. Corn husks can be used in the presentation of a dish, but are not edible and should be discarded after use.

But here is a new way to use corn husk.

Yes!
 we have found a way to turn corn husk into beautiful paper. Cornhusk by itself does not have sufficient cellulose to make paper on its own. However, with a little blend of cotton or flax, this paper turns out beautiful, textured and simply stunning. In addition to the above, these can be turned into eco-friendly and sustainable wedding cards, stationery, letterheads, house invitations among others.

So let’s not burn corn husk or even let it decompose, let’s make paper from it like how we do.

Corn husk has a light green tinge and sometimes yellow depending on the lot that we procure from various farmlands. Furthermore, this process is painstaking in the beginning. Take the corn husk and strip it off its cob. The husk needs to be cooked with soda ash to remove any form of lignin or impurities. Thereafter corn husk is beaten in conjunction with cotton or flax and made into the paper we absolutely adore.

Lemongrass is mostly a perennial plant. It grows in several states in India. Lemongrass was introduced almost a century ago in India and is now cultivated for commercial purposes. The oil extraction is one such commercial use. After the extraction of oil, the residual grass is a by-product that is often discarded.

Lemongrass paper is made after the extraction process of the oil. The grass is then steamed and made into sheets of paper. Both papers are 100% natural and a great example of upcycling and can be used for printing, writing and packaging. However, this has shown great potential to be turned into paper. The process of extraction somehow seems to strengthen the fibers for paper making. The fibers are beautiful and strong and turn into smooth resilient paper. Cotton fibers are added to further smoothen the paper.

This is a great example of upcycling, as this residual waste is often burned down and can contribute to pollution and landfill waste.

Grape seed oil is a plain oil that is particularly appropriate to apply on baby skin. This is because a baby's skin is sensitive and may react very quickly to various stimulants suck as oils. The oil is appropriate when massaging the baby. 

There are various advantages associated with massaging a baby. Some of these advantages include relieving the baby of certain discomforts such as Gas and constipation. Application of the oil also aids in improving blood flow in the baby's body. When Grape seed oil is applied to the body of the baby and he/she is massaged softly, the baby releases Oxycontin which is a nurturing hormone.

Research into baby massage has also revealed that a baby that massaged regularly has better immune functions. His/her body is less susceptible to diseases. Other than that, a good massage also stimulates neurological development. This is very important for babies who are in the early stages of growth. Cradle cap is a skin condition that happens to newborns within the first few weeks of life. It does not cause your baby any discomfort, and is non-threatening. There is nothing that you, as a parent, have done to cause it. As we mentioned, cradle cap is no indication of your baby’s hygiene levels and is a totally harmless skin condition. Bottom line: no need to worry!

Because Moringa oil is a dry oil, it is easily absorbed by the skin without leaving it greasy and so makes it the perfect moisturizer for both the skin and the scalp. A few drops go a long way. Moringa oil contains oleic acid,  and so is great for growing longer, thicker hair as it is chock-full of nutrients that stimulate growth. The zinc contained in Moringa oil will relieve baby of cradle cap .
