A stew mix with dried barley and dried vegetables including potato, onion, carrot, cabbage &amp; leek, flavoured with lamb stock. 

This is a traditional Welsh recipe which can either be made as a casserole with some lamb, or in a slow cooker. The barley really expands and makes this a tasty dish which is quite heavy on the leeks. Feel free to add more veg if required. Serve with chunks of crusty bread and sprinkle some cheese on the top and pop under the grill for a few minutes to brown. Each pack is handmade in small batches and 'sand-art style' layers, in a compostable tube, by our SALSA accredited small team in Rochdale, ensuring quality and traceability.

Method:
Brown 300g of diced lamb. Add contents of the packet mix, including the stock sachet, into a casserole dish and add the lamb.
Add 1500ml of cold water. Stir, cover and cook in a pre-heated oven at 200˚ (fan assisted 180) for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Season to taste.
Can also be cooked on a hob or in a slow cooker. Do not reduce the water for a slow cooker, you may need to add more.

Method:
Place the packet contents, including the sachet of flavouring, in a pan with 1500ml of cold water.
Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring regularly.
Add extra water if required.
Blend when peas are soft until the soup is smooth. Season to taste.
You can use a Soup Maker for this too – on the smooth setting

Method:
Brown 250g minced beef, drain excess fat and add packet mix, including stock sachet, to a pan with 1500ml of cold water and a 400ml can of chopped tomatoes.
Bring to boil, reduce the heat and then simmer for 1hr 15 mins stirring regularly.
Add water as required during cooking.
Can also be made in a Slow Cooker with braising steak or other meat - do not reduce the water, you may need a little more. Follow your slow cooker instructions.

Empty packet, including the stock sachet, into a pan, add 1500ml cold water.
Bring to the boil and then simmer for 30 minutes until the rice is cooked and the veg is soft.
Leave to cool for a short while and the soup will thicken. Season to taste. Serve.

Empty the packet mix, including the stock sachet, into a pan, add 1500ml of cold water, bring to the boil and then turn down to a simmer.
Cook for 45 minutes or until the peas have softened.

Brown 300g of diced lamb. Add contents of the packet mix, including the stock sachet, into a casserole dish and add the lamb.
Add 1500ml of cold water. Stir, cover and cook in a pre-heated oven at 200˚ (fan assisted 180) for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Season to taste.
Can also be cooked on a hob or in a slow cooker. Do not reduce the water for a slow cooker, you may need to add more.
