Hollywood is situated on the Wicklow Gap and is the starting point of St Kevin’s Way, the famous pilgrimage.

Locals erected the famous Hollywood sign on the mountain on entry to the village, in honour of the Californian adoption of the name. The name Hollywood derives from “Holy Wood” dating back to St Kevin who prayed here and found solitude.

Nevertheless, we thought long and hard about what scent would honour the famously beautiful and deeply spiritual journey of the Wicklow Way, so, we chose our absolute favourite essence of Oud. This perfect blend of Oud enlightens the senses and generates a euphoric recall.  

Wicklow is famous for its dramatic beauty thanks to the peaceful nature of the Wicklow mountains and valley, and the breathtaking scenery along its coastline. 

Created in 1980, the Wicklow Way is Ireland's first signposted, long-distance hiking trail and was the brainchild of J.B Malone.  Before this, Wicklow already boasted St Kevin's Way, whose pilgrimage is centuries old and connects with the Wicklow Way at Glendalough.

St Kevin was the spirit guide of the people when he embraced the journey along St Kevin’s way to Glendalough where he established the first roots of the new Celtic Christian era.

St Kevin devoted himself to the study of sacred scriptures and is a well-celebrated Saint in Wicklow, his most noted contribution being to the Monastery of Glendalough.

St Kevin was ordained by Bishop Lugidus, following his ordination he lived like a hermit in a cave in Glendalough, a bronze age tomb now known as St Kevin's bed. 

He lived off the land eating the flora and fauna he found available in his surroundings. He travelled barefoot and spent his time in prayer similar to a shaman's vision quest or a monk's training of Hōkai or Sōkai.
