What is it? Reverse hand tie dyed rainbow on a 100% cotton black T-shirt. Available in adult and children sizes. Size and T-shirt specifications are shown in the photos. How is it created? Item Preparation There is no need to pre wash or soak in soda ash for this item. Tie Technique This item was tied in a standard tie dye method. To create this pattern a rainbow outline is drawn on the item in chalk then folded along the lines from start to finish of the design then tightly tied with elastic bands at the top and bottom of the rainbow outline. Dye Technique For this item we used liquid dyes whereby dye powder is mixed in a bottle with water. Firstly the part to be left black is wrapped in cling film to ensure it does not become bleached. Then where the rainbow outline is left exposed it is covered in bleach to stripe away the black. This is then left for 15 minutes. The elastic bands and cling film is then removed and the item is rinsed, washed on a 30 degree cycle, soaked in soda ash for 15 minutes then put on a spin cycle. The item is then re-tied along the same lines and further elastic bands are added to split this area into 6 sections. Each Pride colour is then added to the required section covering it completely. Once the item is dyed in the colour scheme as required it is then wrapped fully in cling film and left for 24 hours on a rack next to a hot radiator. This allows the dyes to fully bind with the cotton fibres and the heat results in a more vibrant colour on the end product. Afterwards the clothing is rinsed out in the sink then re-washed on another 30 degree cycle to remove any excess dye. All dyes used on our products are Vegan. Customisable All our items can be fully customised to your chosen colours if you wish to opt to a different colour scheme than that shown in the photo. For this item Chinese Red, Bright Yellow, Deep Orange, Better Blue Green, Navy and Grape dye was used. Our available colours are shown in the photos, for any amendments please note this in the personalisation box. Otherwise we will assume you wish the item to be created in colour scheme as shown in the photos. Care instructions Machine washable - Wash at 30° separately for the first few washes to ensure any loose dye does not leak onto other clothes. Do not iron over vinyl. Delivery Instructions Our turn around time for our tie dye products is 1 - 2 weeks.
