In founding ELK, we rebelled against the polluting nature of mass production and fast fashion, which is why each of our lines is limited to a maximum run of 200 units. Each and every bag we make, is hand crafted from sustainably sourced hardwoods and leathers, and is a part of ELK Design Studios’ broader mission to make ethical fashion the norm. Coming from the automotive industry - one of the most polluting industries on the planet - we were determined our products would not dent the fragile ecosystem we live in. Every time a new bag comes out, we are working hard behind the scenes to develop new products that fit their purpose. Based in both London and Los Angeles, ELK Design Studios is led by internationally award-winning designer Elizabeth Pinder. Trained at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London, Elizabeth started her career as an automotive designer, working for brands including BMW, Range Rover and Volvo.
