Hand Stitch a Pair of Reclaimed Leather Espadrilles Over Lunch

On this three-hour course, you’ll design and make your own bespoke leather espadrilles with our social enterprise studio!
Good to Know
Experienced makers will offer expert instruction and support, taking you through the various steps to design, size, cut and stitch your own pair of reclaimed leather shoes.
You will start by choosing from the stock of leather reclaimed from local factory offcuts and vegan upcycled materials. You will then choose your style and cut out the pattern for your shoe (choose from a full shoe, slide, or sandal styles). You will learn to shape and pin the shoe to the sole and finally hand-stitch the leather to the sole with waxed linen thread. A wide range of colours, textures, and patterns will be available for you to use. All materials and tools are provided, and the shoes include the use premium jute soles sourced from southern Spain, which are thicker, more robust, and comfier than any other espadrille sole, so you’ll be sure to love wearing your shoes. Each workshop includes drinks, snacks, and local lunch from the farm.
