Liz Christy, Wearable Art ~ Inspired by Art. Essentially Liz Christy Scarves are slow fashion, high quality, distinctive gifts to be worn and enjoyed. As gifts they are a pleasure to give and a joy to receive. As a textile designer and hand-weaver, my fabrics are inspired by Art, from paintings to poetry. The natural world stimulates my creative energy. Luxurious hand-woven scarves for men and women are my signature designs. Time goes into the unhurried crafting of every piece. All are woven on foot powered looms. Ours is an artisan production workshop surrounded by the green drumlin hills of the Monaghan countryside. I hand-dye some of our yarn and each scarf is carefully hand-knotted in the old-fashioned way. Then handfinishing brings out the luxurious softness of the fibres. With care and gentle handwashing, they will become tomorrow’s heirlooms.
