Before releasing "The Auklett Bamboo Toothbrush" we got samples made and gave 70 people (including our friends and family!) various styles of bamboo toothbrushes to test out. We chose an ergonomically curved handle that enables tight comfortable grip for precision brushing, and wavy bristles pattern as having the best 'natural feel' and gives better contact with tooth surfaces. MATERIAL: The toothbrush handle is made from Moso Bamboo that is 100% compostable and sustainable. The bristles are made from Bamboo dust with Nylon bristles. The bristles contain nylon 4 - a preferred material for toothbrush bristles according to the International Federation of Dental Hygienists. Nylon 4 is a BPA and phthalate free. To make the bamboo mix bristles bamboo material is steamed and dried then ground to dust. This dust is mixed with nylon 4 and pulled into the bristles. The bristles are great for cleaning sensitive teeth and gums. USE: Dentists recommend you change your toothbrush every 3 months. Which means for a family of 4, this is a 3 month supply or for a single person, a 1 year supply! Store your toothbrush in a clean dry area between uses to keep dry. Once you've finished with your Vegan toothbrush, the nylon bristles are recyclable. The handle can be repurposed, composted or burned.
